As of current i am developing an IRC Client and Bot that is to serve as a light weight and minimal alternative. I have used x-chat for a long time and have found it to be reasonably good, however i thought i might make something completely custom so i can have features i want and remove the tonne of features that i don't want.
Currently the project is in early stages, i have a working application and i am just refactoring various chunks of code and really nutting out the best ways to approach the design of the application and furthermore the class structure.
This application will be released under the GNU GPL and be compatible with both Windows Systems and Unix systems making it versatile. I have employed the Gtk 2.0 as my choice for Graphical User Interfaces and i am enjoying working with such a great framework. I was hoping to have it completed tonight however i got lazy today and decided to pass it off for a while. In the mean time, an early preview image is posted below to give people an idea of what the project is aiming for.
